A Letter to Pre-Baby Me

If I could have a moment to speak to the girl who I was before I became a mother there are a few things I’d say to her…

Dear Pre-Baby Me,

Sleep in until 10 whenever you get the chance. Your days of sleeping are soon coming to an end. You may not enjoy lounging around in bed very much – but do it. Do it often!

Go on a vacation with your husband. Sit in the sun. Relax. Eat and drink and swim and nap and eat some more. Enjoy each other. Go. Go now.

Don’t sit around waiting for life to begin. Realize that your life has begun. When you become a mother, it will just add more to that life. And it will speed up. So much. Don’t wish your time away.

Rock a bikini every.single.day. Because it’s the last time you will. Likely ever. Take advantage of that flat tummy. Soon all you will be rocking is a firework display of stretch marks covering your thighs, hips and tummy.

Don’t take the tags off and wash every.single.piece of clothing you get before your baby is born and within the first few weeks after she arrives. You’ll soon learn that there is no possible way she can wear that many clothes. And you’ll regret it if things end up fitting her in the wrong season.

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Your worries aren’t that big of a deal. Soon, you’ll have so much more to think about. Someone else’s life will depend on the decisions you make. So, relax. Stop worrying. Enjoy yourself.

Clear out some serious space in that heart of yours because this little goober is going to take over in ways that you can’t even imagine. There is nothing I can say to prepare you for the love and devotion you will feel towards her.

Get ready for the biggest adventure of your life.

Love,

Post-Baby Me

Bikinis aren't out of the question .. they just take a little more work. I'm almost 40, post-4-kids, and still wear one! You can do it!

I actually disagree with Nicole...if you have stretchmarks? Bikinis likely ARE out of the question--especially for the sake of everyone else.

And as far as this post goes, you know I love it. Especially the make-room-in your heart part. gah. those babies.

I love this. :) And since I'm 16 weeks pregnant tomorrow, I may just take some of your advice. :)

Uh-oh...I just did a bunch of baby's laundry last night, lol. Oh well, it was mostly onesies.

Great advice!
