The First Last Date

Last night, the first words the Dude said when he walked in the door were, "Do you want to date me tonight?"

Um, date the cutest guy on the block?

Yes, please.

At first we thought about going to a movie but then we decided to do something that would allow for a little more interaction so we decided to head down to Port, get some ice cream and take a walk along the Pier, enjoying the sunset. Ha! Sounds so romantic doesn't it? (Not so much when you're waddling along and struggling to keep up with is pace).

While we were walking, I said, "This might be our last first date."

But he promptly corrected me.

"No. This is our first last date."

He's right - it was the first time we've been out together that I really considered the possibility that it might, just might, be the last time we go out on a date as a childless couple.

Over the next couple weeks I really want to make an effort to take advantage of our time - just the two of us. I know that life is going to change in a blink of an eye (or ... after hours and hours of grueling labor) and although we wouldn't have it any other way - I'm sure there will be times when we will long for the days when it was just the two of us.

So, here's to our first last date and all of the subsequent "last dates" we will go on in the next few weeks before the baby arrives!

Aww. So sweet. It might have been your last date as a childless couple, but it certainly won't be your last date! :)

Any time you want a date with just the two of you, there will be two aunties just waiting to look after the little monkey.

Be careful!
Craig and I went on a date on Friday night and my water broke at 1:30am on the Saturday!

Now admittedly it was ABOUT TIME but you never know what might happen!

Take it from me...try to go on as many first last dates as you can before that little money arrives! It does not have to be anything you pay for, but make time to spend the last few days/weeks together. B and I used to play guitar hero, walk, watch movies, cook dinner together. Anything we could think of to spend those last few US days together.
