24 Weeks

Wow... I feel like all I have been posting lately are my weekly pregnancy updates. I promise, I will be better just as soon as I get my thesis defense done and out of the way!

How far along? 24 weeks ... still hanging out with my little Papaya. My baby is now about 1.25 pounds and about 8.5 inches in length. I can't believe how much growing he still has to do over the next few months!

Total inches gained: 10.5 ... my belly is getting large and in charge!

Maternity clothes? Always! I even got to sport my lovely maternity swim suit last weekend at the lake!

Sleep: I have had some of the best sleeps this week! I think my body was just ready to crash and catch up in my comfy bed after a few not so comfy sleeps at the boat.

Cravings: Fish and chips .... always fish and chips.

Aversions: None.

Best moment this week: Seeing my belly move when I was reading on the couch and then sitting with the FD later that evening and watching him stare at my belly waiting to see it move. It is so cool that we are now able to see baby move from the outside.

Movement: Lots! And, like I just said above, we can now see movement from the outside.

Gender: I don't know but I am starting to day dream about little dresses and hair bows.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out?
We all know it's out and it's staying out. The dude thinks it's gross that I can do all sorts of tricks with it - like make it go in when I breath in ever so slightly and make it stick out when I breath out.

What I miss: Not being a perma sweat ball.

What I'm Looking Forward to: Seeing my midwife next week (hopefully my mom will be able to come to the appt to meet her!), checking out a cloth diaper store close by, and starting our childbirth classes next week.

Weekly Wisdom: Beat the heat! Drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated. This may be the hottest week we've ever had in May around here.

Milestones: Seeing movement from the outside and seeing the appearance of the dark line down my tum tum.

I did some cloth diapering before we moved out of the country - great for the budget and not as hard (or as gross) as I thought it was going to be!

And enjoy all the baby movement - even when it starts to keep you up at night - I miss it!

It has been really warm around here too -- my sister's graduation was 90 with really high humidity.

I'm glad to hear you are doing well and looking forward to exciting things in the next week :)

Isn't it amazing how much they grow in the end. What a change!

And I can't believe you can see movement from the outside. That is the most awesome thing ever.

I am SO glad you saw the movement, it is the coolest thing ever! With only 10 lbs, he/she prob doesn't have too much room, so I bet you'll see a lot of movement! I have to confess, I've been rocking the bikinis, I think I am anti-maternity clothes for some reason.. Plus, when's the next time it will be acceptable for my tum to be hanging OVER my bathing suit, lol. Glad to hear everything is good with you!

I discovered today that my kid is OBSESSED with pregnant ladies. We went swimming with a very pregnant friend today and he would NOT stop touching her belly and he cuddled right in to her forever...could be an interesting wedding ;)
