Shower, Shopping ... and some good foods

This weekend was fun, and busy, and exhausting, and fun, and exhausting! So much so that I'm just now getting a chance to sit down and write about it. As I mentioned on Friday, I spent the last bit of last week getting ready for a bridal shower for my frousin Caley on Saturday. After all the cleaning, baking and preparing I did, I decided I would rather not cook on Friday night so we headed to the falls with M&L and ate at Red Lobster. Dang, those buns are good.

I am not going to share many pictures of the shower itself because, well, they are not appropriate for a family friendly blog, but I will say that we had a great time! Caley was showered with gifts that her future hubby is going to loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, and we ate some delicious and interestingly shaped treats, and played some whacky games.

The one picture I will share is of Caley and I sporting our two favorite pieces of ling*rie. When I got married, she gave me this delightful "Cool as a Cucumber" nighty, which I have actually worn so much I would not want to live without it. So, I decided to repay the favor by giving her an equally attractive and flattering nighty. If you can't see, hers says "Funky MOOOOOOSIC" and mine says "Cool as a Cucumber".

After the shower, my bro and SIL stayed for the rest of the weekend. We played lots of games, watched some movies and just hung out.

We ended our weekend together with a trip to the great US a A for some good ol' shopping and eating. I got to try Chipotle and PF Chang's for the first time ever and got some cutsie things for baby. It is so fun to start picking out and buying things for him/her. It makes it all seem so real! I also scored an amazing deal on running shoes for both FD and myself! Love it!

After all of that excitement and fun, I hit the ground running this week. I'm busy working on final thesis edits, meetings, and starting to prepare my defense presentation. My grading is all done so now the next month or so will be focused completely on thesis work. Soon, soon, soon I will be all done!
