19 Weeks!

How far along? 19 weeks. According to The Bump, our baby is now the size of a mango. It is about 6.0 inches and 8 ounces. He has made significant growth since last week but still has a lot of growing left to do!

Total inches gained: 8 inches, .5 inches up from last week.

Maternity clothes? I'm already starting to get bored of my wardrobe. It seems like I've borrowed and bought quite a few things, but when they are the only things you have to wear, it gets old fast. Good thing I have a nice shopping trip planned in a few weeks.

Sleep: Fantastical!

Cravings: Potato chips. Specifically Miss Vickie's. And it goes back and forth between regular flavor and sea salt and malt (guess what I'm eating right now as I type this? ... by the way, I'm writing this Wednesday evening not Thursday morning. No potato chips in the morning). I also had one really funny craving this week. I got home from yoga on Thursday night to find that E had made himself tuna melts on English muffins for dinner. I got really upset and asked why he didn't save one for me. His response was that he knows I hate tuna, so he thought I wouldn't mind. I said that "all I really wanted today was to get home and have a tuna melt". All night and all day Friday I kept thinking about having a tuna melt. And seriously folks, I HATE TUNA. Finally, I caved and made myself a tuna melt. And loved it. (Now I know there is some controversy about the safeness of eating tuna while pregnant. I figure since it was the first and probably only time I've eaten it, it's all good). I've also been craving black olives. But I love them all the time, so that's no surprise.

Aversions: Well, I can finally think about Chinese food without wanting to hurl. And it's a good thing, because I'm going to go to PF Chang's on Monday for my brothers birthday. It will be my first time going there and I want to enjoy it to the fullest. I don't think I need to worry though because it's the greasy, MSG-filled, carry out Chinese that has been making me feel ill. Also, yesterday I made a tomato sandwich for lunch and got about 3/4 of the way through the first half and all of a sudden I felt like if I took another bite my life would end. I felt awful but I had to throw it out. So weird.

Best moment this week: It has nothing to do with the pregnancy but finding out that my thesis is ready to go and my defense is being scheduled. Now I know for sure I'll be done my MA well in time to have some rest before baby comes!

Movement: Definitely feeling him.

Gender: Well, based on the wives tales poll I did the other day, I discovered that I have about a 50/50 chance of either sex. Which was annoying since I could have used my very basic knowledge of biology to figure that one out without wasting 30 minutes answering redonkulus questions.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? It is trying SO hard to pop out. The top right hand side is really starting to stick out. I have a feeling in the next few weeks it will be an outtie.

What I miss: Nothing has stood out this week.

What I'm Looking Forward to: Seeing our little monkey at the ultrasound next week.

Weekly Wisdom: Remember that pregnancy is really super cool. It is an amazing time, so savor it! Thanks to Katie for the reminder of all the coolest parts of pregnancy. Some of them I haven't had a chance to experience yet but some I already have.

Milestones: Having my aunt tell me she could see my belly button through my shirt. Love it!

how rude to make a tuna melt and not ask the girl who hates tuna if she wants one :P

How fun!!! I craved chips for a while during my pregnancy too. The saltier the better. :) And...I didn't comment on your last post but the Mayan baby predition told us we were having a girl before I found out!!! I trust that one completely. :) XOXO

aww thanks for the shout out...and I'm excited for you to experience some of those things. When your feet are swollen and you start to get a stretchmark here or there (hopefully you dont!), try to not freak out (like I did, haha), and focus on the good! A life! A baby! a family ;)
