Fifteen Weeks!

How far along?
15 weeks - is it just me or is the time just flying by?

Total weight gain: About 3-4 pounds.

Total inches gained: 3.5 inches gained around the belly!

Maternity clothes? I'm integrating the pants into my wardrobe, but still managing to get away with one pair of regular my regular jeans. I'm having to be more creative with the tops I wear, but I'm still not wearing the really maternity-ish maternity tops.

Sleep: Pretty good mostly. Any problems I've been having with sleeping are not because of le bebe.

Best moment this week: We met our midwife this morning. Well, one of three. The clinic we are going to works on a team approach. I will go to know 3 midwives throughout my pregnancy, to ensure that at least one midwife that I am familiar with will be at the birth. I can already tell that I love love love the clinic. Even after the preliminary visit, I can tell already that I feel 100% more comfortable with their approach to care than I did with the obstetric approach. It is just more in line with our style and way of thinking. We are so pumped! The first question the dude asked (which he has been talking about quite a bit up until now) is if they will let him deliver the babe. She was so supportive of this and said by all means, they will do what they can to facilitate him being as involved as possible in the delivery.

Movement: Not yet ... soon enough :)

Gender: This question is going to be boring fast, since for the next 25 weeks I am going to continue telling you over and over that we don't know.

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? Innie

What I miss: Nothing really.

Weekly Wisdom: Start thinking about/reading/planning for labor early! I find myself getting so caught up in being pregnant and thinking about my pregnancy that I forget to think about what will happen at the end of it. This week, I've really started looking into, and discussing, different options with the fabulous dude. I am going to look into some prenatal fitness classes that are offered in my area that will help get my body ready for the big job that it's going to do.

Milestones: We met our midwife. I got to hear the heartbeat again and witness E hearing it for the first time. He/she was a real monkey again today and gave the midwife a run for her money as she tried to get him to stay still while she counted the heart rate. And, our ultrasound is booked! Only a few more weeks until we get to see the baby wiggle around. Whoo hoo!

Our baby is now about the size of a navel orange.

rob would never make it. he was in the room with me once when i was having my blood drawn and ended up almost passing out. they had to give him crackers and water and attend to him instead of ME! :)

I had no idea that it was even an option for him to help deliver! I want to know more about that.

Yea! That is awesome that your man can help deliver the babe! Jeff was by my side through both deliveries. I can't imagine how woman could have delivered back in the day without their husbands support.

I love seeing the orange in front of your belly. It really puts him/her in perspective! I'm glad to hear that you love the clinic! I'm hoping that my current OBGYN is still around when we decide to have kids. He is awesome!

I really do love these weekly updates. one of my good friends delivered with a midwife and her husband did most of the delivery. It was perfect for them, and they were so happy with their decision.
Jason could have done it by the third one, maybe even the second, but definitely not the first. The smell made him queasy he said. lol. Poor guy. He's weirdly sensitive to smells. ;)

Happy Weekend, L and E.
