Random Dozen

1. Which Wizard of Oz character are you most like? Which one doesn't have a brain again? Because that's me.

2. When you're deciding what you're going to wear each morning, which item do you select first? Why? Shoes/boots. The jeans I wear depends on what I'll be wearing on my foots. If I'm wearing tall boots or flats, skinny jeans. If I'm wearing short boots, boot cut jeans. If I'm wearing slippers, then PJ pants.

3. What kind of animal do you think the world could live without? Snakes. Ugh. Creepy. Great now that I thought about snakes, I'm going to have nightmares tonight. Seriously, that's how it works with me,

4. How many Christmas trees are in your home? Just one. But someday I dream of having two. One "pretty" tree that Mommy gets to decorate and no one else gets to touch and one "kids" tree that showcases all of the handmade decorations. The "kids" tree is where Santa will visit.

5. Would you prefer to be emotionless if it mean you didn't have to feel a heartbreak? Not a chance.

6. Do you ever experience holiday let-down or depression? Oh my goodness, do I ever. See here. The only thing that stinks about Christmas is when it's over. But, in relation to my answer for the last question, I wouldn't choose to be without the joy of Christmas just so that I didn't have to feel the heartbreak of when it was over.

7. Do you like Michael Jackson's music? Please don't hate me for this, but no, I hate Michael Jackson's music. And I apologize, but my opinion on the matter is that he was similar to Elvis. No one really cared about his music until he died.

8. Why is it that we never judge people who have their teeth fixed for cosmetic reasons, but every other cosmetic procedure has a stigma? Ha! What a wonderful question. Because guess what? I have had my teeth fixed for cosmetic reasons and I still must admit, I have caught myself judging people for other cosmetic procedures. Very interesting...

9. Enjoy horseback riding? I have only ridden a horse once in my life. One of the best days of my life, I must add. If you haven't read about it, you really should. But ... um, it was actually terrifying and scary and I doubt I'll ever do it again.

10. Shoes--practical or stylish? Stylish. Oh my, have my feet ever suffered many a day because of my answer to this question.

11. What was the name of your first pet? Feel free to post a pic. Well, I'm not sure if I should count the two hamsters (or were they gerbils?) that I killed by feeding them bubble gum causing their stomachs to explode, because I am too young to remember them and well, because I killed them. And I'm also not sure I should count the many a-salamander that my brother caught in the ravine behind my grandma's house, because their tails fell off as soon as we touched them. I'm still not sure I should count the many Siamese fighting fish I had because the ugly brown females ate the beautiful fins of the male out of jealousy, because we didn't know they weren't supposed to go in the same fish tank. So I guess I will count good old Holly Belle. Also known as Gumbelge. The cat who my grandma got for us when I was about 8 years old. She lived a long, grouchy life but ended up peeing on too many of my mom's clean laundry baskets and had to be put down earlier this fall.

12. What percentage of your Christmas shopping is done? 97.65%

I'm glad someone else said stylish shoes : )

I have two trees now (well, three actually because my daughter has one in her room)...however, my kids are nearly grown so enjoy these Santa days...they are fleeting.

I guess we can agree to disagree on MJ...maybe it's an age thing as well.

Hmm...now that I think about it, maybe the stylish shoes thing is an age thing too! I mean, I used to like them. Before the marathon...lol

Hi Lucy! I'm new here. Just wanted to comment on THIS post before I go off and read your linked posts, and yes I DO plan on staying a bit and reading more. I loved your answers and I have to say I disagree with #1, you most certainly HAVE a brain and it's very entertaining! I also agree with what you said about MJ, BUT I did like his music back in the day, Thriller was my first album I ever bought. What made me laugh is you compared him to Elvis, who my husband is Gaga over...I wonder what he'd say to your answer? (I'm gonna tell him tonight and stand back and watch the SHOW!) ;)
I'm off to go read more, nice to "meet" cha!

i want two trees for the new house :) right now i have to be careful when friends/family with children come to visit because of the antique ornaments. so they'll go upstairs and when i have guests i just gate off the stair case.

Ha ha, #1 cracked me up! Actually a lot of them did. I would love to take you horseback riding and give you a non-scarry experience. It's my favorite thing in the whole world. I teach too so I can assure you, you'd be safe :) Sorry you had a bad experience.

I loved reading this. :) It's an interesting question to pose, the cosmetic surgery one... I don't have a problem with most procedures, but I do find myself picking them out on people and commenting. It's horrible! I also love the idea of two Christmas, maybe even more [of the smaller nature]. I love Christmas and believe there is never enough. :)

I chucked when I read the cosmetic question. I had my breasts reduced over twenty years ago. It's was truly a blessing!

bubble gum... wow.

My sister had a hamster named Buster -- he was great. Loved him. I, on the other hand didn't really like my hamster. And, my sister killed him by dropping him off the top bunk bed ... internal bleeding.

#1 almost made me spit my soda.

I agree on #5, you can't regognize joy if you haven't experienced a bit of pain too.

#8 left me feeling guilty, I have never thought about it that way.

The whole pet thing had me cracking up too!

I killed my hamster too!! It lived in a wire cage and I left a Minnie Mouse necklace on the table by it...and the damn hamster got it through the wires, apparently choked to death and died. My parents noticed because he didn't come out of his little house in the cage for quite a long time. I didn't notice until they told me. Hm.

It's sad to see how many people on here are proud of killing their hamsters (living creatures). I'm sorry but that's just not funny.

I want a mommy tree and a kids tree too! (Someday, of course, since I don't have kids yet) and I also told my hubby he could have an LSU tree!

what a fantastic idea- a mommy tree and a kid tree. If only I have a house big enough for both . . .

(Oh yeah- I used to be stylish shoe girl- but then I got old (25) and my back was killing me, my knees and my feet said "all done" and now I am into grandma shoes. Love them. = ) and my chiropractor. )
