September Goals

I have been encouraged by seeing some other bloggers keeping track of their monthly goals on their blogs. September is one of my favourite months. Not only is it the month of my birthday, but it is also a month that symbolizes freshness and a new start for me as I begin the school year. September brings the first signs of fall - leaves changing, apples ripening, pumpkins growing - all my favourite things. In light of this, I have decided to use this month as an opportunity to start documenting my monthly goals. I will post them at the beginning of the month and then review how I did at the end of the month. Perhaps this will help me stay accountable and on top of things.

1. Celebrate my birthday (I had to start with an easy one :)

2. Prepare for my BFF's homecoming after her year-long adventure in Scotland.

3. Submit ethics application for my thesis.

4. Complete a draft of the first three chapters of my thesis.

5. Make a new soup recipe each week.

6. Save enough money in the designated savings account to cover Christmas expenses.

7. Get a new hair cut.

8. Start (or I guess I should say re-start) The Love Dare.

9. Complete all canning/freezing/preserving with the produce from the garden.

10. Decorate the house for autumn.

This seems totally doable! Clearly the best thing on your list is celebrating your birthday. :)

This is a good list! I'm glad you added the one about Christmas savings...that reminds me that I should definitely start doing that!!!!

Can't wait to see the soups you make!

I love your No. 10 goal! I told my husband yesterday that he was going to have to go to the attic and get out our fall decorations, and he said, "You know, one of these days, you're going to need to learn to go to the attic yourself." I said, "Um, NO. That's why I got married." LOL!

Good for you for having goals! I think I'm more in the "those who fail to plan, plan to fail" category.

Hi Lucy.
First of all, happy early birthday!!! Woo hoo!
Secondly, I think this is a great idea. I have seen lots of people put their lists on their blogs too. I have told my husband many times that I should do the same to keep me motivated. I'm excited to see how it works out for you.
Oh, on a side note, my mom was here this weekend and I took her to your page to show her your marathon canning and she was equally as awed as I was. You, my friend are a domestic diva if I have ever seen one! (Diva in a good way, not the yelling at your assitants and having a fit kind of way) ;) Tee hee hee!
Have a wonderful week, Lucy and FD.
Happy September!

awesome list! I was just thinking about how much I love fall and how for me it's more of a new year than January.

Re-starting the Love Dare is on my list too -- maybe you can help me stay on track?!?!

Your list looks like a fun one! I have tried a bunch of times to do this, but unfortunately I can't always stick to it. You also reminded me that Christmas also is just around the corner and that I better start saving. Thanks for that :)

Love your list! I think I need to steal two of your ideas: get a hair cut and read The Love Dare. :)

I just love reading what others goals are. Sounds like you have a busy month ahead of you! I'm actually inspired to write my own goals for the month.
