...EEE III EEE III OOO!

Yes, my friends. We are venturing into the world of chicken farming. This is actually not so new to us, since the fabulous dude worked on a chicken farm for 5 years before we got married. The problem is, I have an intense fear and hatred towards birds. That being the case, the fabulous dude was very proud of me when I braved it up and offered to transfer a chicken from the crate to their little coop. I almost vomited. Oh, the things we do for love.

We're hoping these little guys (err, girls) will start laying eggs within a month or so. I'll keep you updated.

Oh my goodness, you're such a homesteader! Wish I was close so I could buy some of your ladies' eggs!

Chickens, huh?! Jason wants chickens so bad, but I KNOW I would be the one to tend to them, and I too share an intense fear of birds. As Jason says, any chicken looking at me the wrong way would probably send me running and screaming like a little girl. ;)
Best of luck. Everyone I know who has them says that once you have fresh eggs, you will never go back to store bought.
XOXO

P.S. So glad to hear you're home safe and sound and that your trip was so wonderful!

Your so funny! I loved the pics and the song!

I don't know if I would care for chickens or not. They stink! My FIL has them and he said they are getting more and more expensive to feed and keep up... Good luck with yours!

how cool!

you are too brave, my friend. I like birds -- but chickens are a whole other bird ;-) But, the fresh eggs will hopefully make up for your putting up with the birds.

how nice that you have so much space at your place -- cherries, apples, a garden and now chickens! Watch out -- the cow/goat is next ;)

Wow!! WTG on such an awesome decision. I wanted to do the same but they don't allow farm animals in my town :(

Oh I am so envious!!! I'm scared of little birds fluttering around but big birds like chickens are just so cool!!! Having farm fresh eggs is such a neat thing, and they make perfect hostess gifts when you go to friends homes for dinner! So many people here in our farming community raise them that I am envious as I want some too! Did you get a rooster or are they all hens? Enjoy and stay brave! hee hee :-)
