After writing that post on Wednesday, I got to thinking ... what is the point of complaining about scrapbooking and being frustrated about a hobby I am supposed to love? I decided to do something about it. I got to work on organizing the photos that were waiting to be scrapped and began putting some pages together. I discovered that scrapbooking is not very easy without any adhesive so I made a trip to Walmart on Thursday night to get some glue runner and some more photos printed.
Over the course of Wednesday night, Thursday and Friday I was able to complete about 30 pages of my scrapbook. Let me tell you though, they are nothin' special. Most of them are very simple and include only photos, some patterned paper and maybe a few stickers. I kept the journalling and embellishments to a minimum as my main goal was just to get done. I finished 2006 and 2007 in my Christmas album. I am waiting for pictures from 2008 to arrive from Shutterfly any day now. In my "everyday" album, I completed everything between August 2006 and May 2007. I guess it seems like there is probably still a ton to do to catch up to June 2009 but there are far fewer events I chose to document from 2008 and 2009. The first little bit is busier because it is covering the first few months of our marriage which included two new homes, two vacations, a new dog, a new job and so on ....
My plan is to work on it again tomorrow, Friday and Saturday and hopefully by then I will be caught up. Once that is done I will decide if I'm going to make a regular or digital scrapbook of my trip to Scotland. From here on out, there is no way I'm attempting to scrapbook everything, each year of our lives. I am going to have to find a more selective system so I don't get overwhelmed. I don't have a scanner but if anyone is interested I can try to take a few photos of some of my pages to show you.
After working on the scrapbooks all day on Friday, the FD and I headed to the lake to spend the weekend with my parents at their boat. Luxury I tell you. We had wonderful weather. So wonderful, in fact, that there is evidence of my luxurious weekend peeling off my back today ... sunburns are no fun!
On Friday night we celebrated my mom's birthday which is coming up next week.

Today we went to the park, out for lunch and then said goodbye. It will be a few more weeks until I see him again and I'm sure by then he will have changed and grown some more!
