Dear Baby

Dear Baby,

We’re in the homestretch now. We’ve reached 30 weeks and you’ll be here before we know it.

You are growing bigger and stronger every day, measuring right on track with a strong, steady heartbeat. You are head down and starting to engage – so let’s keep things simple and stay that way. No funny business, mkay?

30 weeks 003

It’s so hard to believe that you’ll be joining our family in a little over two months. There is so much going on between now and then – I’ll be finishing work, we’ll be getting the new house, packing, and starting renos. It’s going to fly by. And that’s okay, I am ready to see your face and kiss your toes.

Here’s a little update on how your Mama’s doing lately – I’ve gained between 25-30 pounds so far. Eek! But the midwife assures me I’m right on track and as long as I’m eating healthy and properly, with a few indulgences here and there, the number of pounds shouldn’t even cross my mind. The important part is that you are healthy. I started an iron supplement today since it has become apparent that my iron has been decreasing as the pregnancy has progressed. Hopefully the supplement will help increase the levels and also increase my energy level. I’ve been starting to feel quite uncomfortable. I’ve been experiencing all the lovely joys of heartburn, pelvic pain and broken sleep. And, the morning sickness has even returned occasionally – likely due to the broken sleep. But, hey, what can you do? I know (from experience) that the minute I see that sweet face of yours, every single one of these discomforts will be so far from my mind. I would do this 600 times over for you.

I’m still pretty convinced you’re a girl. I even bought matching dresses for you and Big Sister for your first time at church so that I’m well prepared if you are a girl. Daddy said you’ll look pretty funny in that dress since he is certain you’re a boy. Don’t worry – if he’s right, I won’t make you wear the dress. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Your big sister is a ton of fun. I can’t wait for you to be able to play together. She loves to talk about you, hug you, kiss you, and then pull my shirt down and say “All done baby”. We’ll see what she thinks when she can no longer put a shirt over you and walk away. She has also started to say, “Baby! Stop cry-ning!” a lot. Apparently she’s got it figured out that babies cry.

I’ve started to think and daydream about the day you arrive. I can’t wait to experience labour and delivery again. My sweet babe, you’re making me a Mama of two. And you hold my heart.

Love you forever,

Mumma

I can't believe that you are already 30 weeks! I remember when you announced to Twitter and Blogger that you were with child. Ahhh...just seems like it's all happened so fast! Won't be lone and we will all get to see those precious toes and that sweet face. Whatever it is, it's going to be perfect, and you will love him/her soo much you won't even be able to stand it! This was a sweet post! Loves it!
