My. Oh. My. We are halfway to the finish line. Or, the starting line, rather. I am so excited to meet you, to snuggle you, and to find out just exactly who you are.
We are trucking along together just fine these days. You’re still making me wake up feeling icky and I’ve still been getting sick once each morning, but it’s totally manageable compared to the nasty all day sickness we started with. I am loving being able to enjoy food again. I still don’t particularly care for cooked green veggies, but I’ve been trying to eat lots of raw veggies to make up for it. Other than that, I haven’t been having any major cravings or aversions. Except popcorn. I’ve been eating popcorn like it’s my job.
Your big sister loves to lift up my shirt to see, hug and kiss her baby. She especially loves to tickle you. You two are going to have so much fun together. When we ask her if you are a brother or a sister, she says “seeter”. When we ask her if you are a sister or a brother, she says “Bru”. So, I guess since we didn’t find out at the ultrasound and she doesn’t seem to have a clue, we’ll just have to wait and see.
I’ve been sleeping really well lately. I still find it easy to get comfy and I don’t have to wake up multiple times per night to pee. Not yet, anyway. I’m enjoying it while I can. The hips and joints are still achy, but I know it’s mostly my fault. I haven’t been exercising nearly as much as I should be and I need to change that so I can keep my body in shape and healthy for you.
I’m looking forward to heading to the midwife next week to hear your heartbeat and check up on how well you (and my wasit line) are growing. I don’t have a clue how many pounds I’ve put on so far, but I feel like I’m on track. So let’s hope the scale agrees.
You are wiggling around in there more and more each day and I just love when I have the chance to stop, be still and just enjoy that sweet feeling. I can’t wait until your Daddy is able to feel you squirming and kicking.
You hang tight in there, kiddo. We love you and are anxiously waiting for you. We just know that you are going to bring with you so much love and joy to this family.
We are yours and you are ours.
I don’t have any official pics (read: non-scary face and hair pics) recently, but here’s a quick snapshot of the 20 week belly.
