Here we are, just past the 18 mark, and I thought it was about time to do another little bumpdate. This pregnancy is flying by. Faster than I ever thought possible. I can’t even believe that we are nearing the halfway mark.
Overall, I’m feeling generally good. I still wake up feeling nauseous and throw up every morning, and, tiring as it may be, I know it could be worse. Trust me. I know. Because it was worse. Much worse, with baby number 1. Occasionally, like yesterday, I have a day that surprises me, where I feel like I’ve been plopped right back into the first trimester and feel the sickies all day. Mostly though, I feel fine by the time I’ve been up and hour or two.
They aren’t kidding when they say everything happens faster the second time around. Specifically, the aches and pains. My tailbone and hips are making me feel like I should be the grandmother, not the mother. And some days I feel like I can hardly bend over. Yowch. Baby needs to go easy on me.
I’ve been sleeping fairly well. I don’t usually have to wake up to go pee, although if I do wake up for any reason, I usually find I’m more comfortable after a trip to the potty.
Speaking of wiggles, I’m feeling quite a bit of movement. Usually I feel him/her at least once during the day, sometimes more. It’s still the fishy squirmy feeling, and not distinct kicks but I know it’s coming.
I have(had?) been craving chicken and eggplant parm like whoa. I ordered eggplant parm a few weeks ago, made chicken parm twice last week (plus ate it twice as leftovers – for a total of 4 meals) and then ordered it again on Saturday night. But, unfortunately, yesterday was one of those first trimester’ish days and I spent a majority of the late evening bent over the toilet. In other words, no more eggplant parm. Ever.
Other than that I haven’t had many aversions or cravings, although I have been eating my fair share of fresh popped popcorn. With real butter, because I can.
And to move on to the exciting stuff – maybe #2 has some fabulous news to share! S/he is going to be a BIG COUSIN x 2. Both my sister and my sister-in-law are expecting in August, which means the Nana is going to be busy. All three of her babies are having babies within 6 weeks of each other. We’ll be doubling the number of grandkids and couldn’t be more excited. Babies are the best.
We are gearing up and excited for the big anatomy scan on Thursday. I cannot wait to see this little one wiggling around in there. I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks, but s/he was just a little bean then. I so look forward to seeing those tiny fingers and toes and I’ll be back at the end of the week with an update on how that goes.

hi baby!!! you have the cutest baby bump! sorry you're not feeling well..morning/afternoon/all day sickies are the worst.
BUT...at least you have sweet tits ;)
That is pretty crazy that all of you are having babies at the same time - that will be the absolute best!
How amazing to be able to share the experience with so many other family members! They are going to have such fun playing with each other later on. Can't wait to find out the gender :)
Oh, hello gorgeous :) Such exciting news for your family!
I can't even imagine how Nana feels...I am SOOOOOOOO excited for everyone.
You look great!! I can't believe it's almost the half way point!
You look sooo good!!! Sucks that your still getting sick. But at least you look good while it's going on!
Looks like things are progressing well! I didn't realize that we were actually that close in our pregnancies. How did I miss that? I guess I thought you were a little bit further along then me then that. That sucks you are still getting the sickies. I hope they are atleast gone by the 3rd trimester!
You look great!
I agree that the discomfort starts earlier the more kids you have.
But the time does fly by during pregnancy when you already have your focus on a little one :)
You look gorgeous. Seriously, glowing. So glad to hear you are doing well. Hopefully your joints will give you a break at some point :) And holy cow talk about babies babies babies!! What a happy year it's going to be for your family!
You are gorgeous!!!!!!!!!! Love this pic of you!!! I wish you were feeling better mama!! Fingers crossed you will very soon!
Love this. So fun because your posts always remind me of me one year ago. Miss the wiggles and the anatomy scans and the excitement. The heaving over the toilet part? Not so much. You've got a great attitude about it though.
You look amazing! beautiful picture!
