A Girl After My Own Heart…

Yesterday I spent quite a bit of time in the nursery doing some reorganizing. It was time to pack up some clothes, get some new clothes out, and make some of the space more functional. Hello, tiny space.

Last week, all of Eva’s 6 month clothes fit her perfectly.

Then on the weekend, I noticed her leggings were too short and I had to tug at her tops to get them up over her head.

How the heck does she grow so stinking quickly?

So I spent the morning packing up all the too small 6 month clothes into a rubbermaid (I have a rubbermaid obsession, by the way).

And I may or may not have cried. Watching my sweet girl grow is so so so bittersweet.

But in the afternoon, the tears were quickly replaced by giddy excitement as I dug out the next bin and remembered this outfit, and this outfit, and this outfit ... so much cuteness.

And then?

My girl totally melted my heart.

I left the room for a minute and when I came back THIS is what I found.

Yes that’s right. She had rolled herself across the room, right to her bin of clothes to snoop. She even tried to take the lid off.

Looks like she is a girl after my own heart.

(Please excuse the crappy phone pics)

I totally understand about the tears shed over clothes that don't fit anymore... 1. because they are just so cute and tiny! 2. because it means the baby is growing up!

I didn't have the same excitment over the new clothes though, but since baby #2 is a girl, I'm sure it will be much like your experience!

I cannot believe she's that big already. I'm not ready for this! And she's not even my baby! WHERE DID THE TIME GO?

oh it is so bittersweet, I can so relate as I'm sure all moms can.
when I look at my little man and his legs hanging out over the swing (he loves to nap in) and remember that just a few months ago he was like a tiny doll in that swing. It makes me a little sad, how quickly time flies. So I try to cherish every sweet moment we have together and capture as much of it I can either with photos of video.

Switching out the clothes is a job I abhor!
But it is bittersweet. I have a couple of special outfits for each child that I saved, and it always brings a tear to my eye when I pull them out and see how tiny they were!

ha ha ha too cute :) Love that she rolled across the room. She knew how excited you where so she wanted to join in!

Time sure does go fast though :) good thing for cute clothes at every stage!

Ahhh! So mobile. Wait till she crawls across the room. Every time G does his funny little crawl thing, I die a little. I'm totally blogging about it soon. Thanks for inspiring me.
