Weekend Recap

This weekend, the FD and I spent our time apart. He left early Friday morning to head up to his cabin and meet up with a bunch of guys for their 4th annual spring turkey hunting weekend. It all started the first year we were married as he hadn't had the chance to have a real bachelor party - he decided to set up a guy's weekend. And the tradition has carried on. This year, FD got his first turkey ever - he was quite excited.

While he was away playing, I spent the weekend with women! On Saturday morning, M&L and I joined forces to host a Bridal Shower Brunch for Caley. It was complete with yummy breakfast foods, a load of great gifts for Caley to enjoy in her new home, and a few special blessings presented to her by some lovely women.

Right after the shower, I headed to W.loo to my SIL's house. My brother was hunting with E so we decided to spend the time together. Also, her sister, Lindsay, who's finance was also hunting with the guys was there - it was a great afternoon and evening of girl's time ... which included some delicious desserts from Symposium. I was also so happy to catch up and have a sleep over with the BFF now that she's returned from her visit to Scotland and Malta. I love hearing all about her adventures!

On Sunday, we headed to church and then came home to get my Laura's house ready to host a personal shower for Lindsay. Most of the photos are inappropriate for the blog so I will just share the group photo. It was so much fun. I always have a blast hanging out with the girl's and getting to be on C-Biscuit's team for one of the games made it all the better!

Following the shower, I headed home and spent the evening unpacking, doing laundry and organizing things for the week. This morning I went to campus to do a trial run of my thesis defense for my advisor and a few colleagues. Now, I've got three weeks to put the finishing touches on my talk until I defend!
