Sweet Potato Sweet Potato and a Big Ol' Belly Shot
How far along? 18 weeks. According to The Bump, our baby is now the size of a sweet potato. It is about 5.7 inches and 6.7 ounces. He's still got a lot of growing left to do!
Total Weight Gained: Last I checked, 2 pounds up from pre-preg weight. Which means a total of about 10 pounds since I lost somewhere around 8 during the first tri.
Total inches gained: 7.5 inches, 1.5 inches up from last week. How does this thing grow so fast? Seriously ...
Maternity clothes? Can't do without them.
Sleep: I have had an excellent week sleeping.
Cravings: The other night I was watching an episode of Brothers and Sisters where Nora was making waffles for Justin. I paused the episode, walked into the kitchen, and whipped up a big batch of waffles for myself. I thought I would die if I didn't have them immediately.
Aversions: The thought of Chinese food still makes me queasy. I'm not sure if I will ever look at it the same again.
Best moment this week: Seeing my sweet nieces interact with their baby cousin. They rubbed, tickled and kissed my belly all weekend.
Movement: I'm starting to think what I'm feeling maybe isn't movement. I am just not really sure because I only notice is occasionally. Does it start to become more obvious?
Gender: I still think boy but why? I have no idea.
Labor Signs: Nope.
Belly Button in or out? My belly button is a source of constant humor for the fabulous dude this week. It has become nearly flush with my tummy, which makes me think that it is likely going to pop out ... and probably fairly soon. Isn't it supposed to stay in there for a lot longer? If I stretch my belly just right, I can make it pop out. FD thinks this is hilarious.
What I miss: Nothing has stood out this week.
Weekly Wisdom: Take each day/week at a time. You may feel great one week (like I did last week) and then feel not so great the next (like this week). I have dubbed this week "Revenge of the Morning Sickness Monster". Enjoy the days that you feel good and try to remember that the days you feel bad will soon pass.
Milestones: Nothing really exciting happened this week. Sorry it's so boring.
To make up for the lack of exciting news on this week's update and because you asked ... here is some pics of how my big ol' belly is looking at 18 weeks...
...compared to at 10 weeks...

Baby bump!!! You are adorable Lucy.
Love the bump! You might be surprised about the belly button--I totally thought mine would pop out and it never did, it just stretched out. :) If that makes any sense...
You'll definitely know when he or she is moving around. There were a few times earlier on that I thought I might be feeling her, and it very well could have, but starting at 18 weeks to the day, it was multiple times per day getting little movements down really low, and what felt like kicks higher up. The closest thing I can compare it to is if you've ever held a salimander or something in your hands and its wriggling around. Very strange!
you are precious :)
What a beautiful baby belly! You TOTALLY look pregnant! And I bet you start feeling more movement soon. It's coming!
