Should I Knock on Wood?

I am beginning to think I should knock on wood anytime I talk about relief from uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms.

Early in my pregnancy, I had a lot of nose bleeds. Some days, my nose bled almost constantly throughout the entire day. I wasn't surprised by this symptom because I get nose bleeds quite frequently during the winter when I'm not pregnant. I knew that they were more common in pregnancy, so I kind of expected that I would get them. The nose bleeds were no big deal - they weren't painful or uncomfortable, just inconvenient. I never had gushers, just constant, steady dripping blood. If you are a fan of Lost, you will understand when I say that E would often ask me if I was "sure I hadn't been to this island before". (they were just like Charlotte's nose bleeds). On Saturday, I was telling my MIL all about the nosebleeds and said that I hadn't had one in weeks.

On Saturday night, I got a nosebleed.

Also, all weekend, I found myself telling people how great I've been feeling. Yesterday, we were driving home from my in-laws and I told the Fabulous Dude that I have really started to enjoy being pregnant because I am feeling so much better. Although I am still on medication to keep the nausea and vomiting at bay, I am rarely sick anymore and have much more energy.

This morning I awoke to a vicious bout of nausea and vomiting. And I'm not talking the kind of nausea/vomiting I've had during the second trimester, where I sometimes feel slightly queasy and occasionally something I eat will set me off and send me racing to the toilet. I am talking full blown, first trimester morning sickness which has caused me to spend the entire morning with my head in the toilet bowl, fists pounding the floor, repulsed by the thought of putting any form of nutrition into my body. Please tell me this is just a fluke and the sweet morning sickness fairy has not returned for an extended stay.

So, like I said, next time I say anything about feeling relief from uncomfortable pregnancy symptoms, you'll find me knocking on wood!

Same thing happened to me..."I'm feeling GREAT!" Then boom! I felt so terrible for days on end. I never thought I'd say this to anyone, but I hope it's the flu...just so you can get it over and done with!

I hope you get to feeling better. I've suffered from nosebleeds too so I feel your pain minus the pregnancy part. ;)

I hope you feel better. You were probably just tired from the weekend of travelling.

Rats! I guess you'll just have to quit voicing how you're feeling.
As my grandma used to say "This too shall pass".

Oh ugh! Well, if it's any consolation, I have a feeling I'll be the same way! You aren't alone in this! Praying it goes away soon!
