My friends... this weekend I discovered a well kept secret. Did you know that there exists a place where one can go to borrow free books, magazines, DVDs and CDs for a period of time?
Apparently, this place is called the Public Library.
How I have managed to live in this town for almost five years without ever driving down the street (honestly, it takes me less than 2 minutes to get to the library) to get a library card, I might never know.
But, as of Saturday March 6, 2010, I am the proud owner of my very own library card.
And now that I have discovered this well kept secret, there may be no keeping me away!

ahahaha...well, it took Andrew and I about 10 months but we finally decided to check out our library that is 2 blocks away from us. They have a huge collection of DVD's that we're lovin'! ;)
YES! i reacted the same way when i discovered our library down the street! i was so (pleasantly) shocked!!!
I uses to LOVE going to the library! Growing up we would go once a week, and I was only allowed to get 7 books at a time. I would go home, read them all that night, and then beg to go again sooner than the weekly trip!
yay for getting a library card!!
better late than never ;)
i've actually been meaning to make it to my public library as well, i must do that soon.
hope you had a great weekend my friend!
I haven't been to our public library since I was a kid :)!
It's hard for me to give up books after I read them though ... that's why I have huge plastic tubs full of books. :)
Hi,
I found your blog from my bloggy friend Katie at Life in the Fulmer Lane!
Your blog is just presh!
Hahahahaha about the library and library card! Too funny....
My little girl and I went to get her library card and mine when she was 1 1/2 she is now 3 and WOW that was an experience....she has a loud voice like her mommy, sooo we left before they kicked us out....
We will go back I am just still traumatized....LOL....
Have a happy day
Summer :0)
Haha, that is funny! We don't have the greatest library, but the next town over has a huge one that I may check out soon, now that you inspired me.
HAHA!! I know what you mean! I get on library kicks when I'm like, "WOW!! This is AMAZING!!" Enjoy the library, friend!
i'm excited because we're getting a new library within walking distance to work
I've been enjoying the library for quiet some time now. I got familiar with it right quick bc for almost two years we didn't have a computer and that's mainly where I blogged and kept up with the online world. I love getting the new magazaines and DVD's. I love that I can get the latest stuff - without having to pay for it!....unless I don't return stuff ontime. :)
Logan and I visit the library all the time in the summer. I don't know why we can never make it there during the school year!!!
Isn't it awesome? We just went today. The kids are quiet in the car the whole way home just scouring over the new pictures in the books.
But I'll bet you didn't get any books with pictures did you?
So funny! Come on, you had to know it was there, you are a student after all.
Our library is really tiny, but the librarians are very interactive and helpful.
dude - i'm with you. i discovered the milwaukee public library last year, which is HUGE and lets you reserve books online and then go pick them up. amazingggg.
I too must go visit my library! Isnt that just the saddest thing?
It's actually not a secret, most communities have a library open to the public. It really is common knowledge.
We love the library -- I'm so happy that you have found the library.
I adore public libraries. I just wish I could remember to return the books...I have a feeling they don't like me.
I still haven't done this either....but I have been wanting to! But I actually need to switch my license to say OHIO first. Maybe I should get on that...
I used to go to the library all the time when i was a child but stopped until just recently. I love that place! I love saving money on books and movies. Where else can you rent new releases for 50 cents a night??
Great post girl, great post!
Is this the library in B-ville? I really liked that one.
