Little Lemon

How far along?
14 weeks - hello second trimester! I find it so hard to believe that I am 1/3 of the way through already.

Total weight gain: I don't know - I don't own a scale so doing these weekly weight gain updates is somewhat difficult.

Maternity clothes? I have a good start on my maternity wardrobe. A good friend sent me a box and bag of her clothes to borrow and I did some shopping on the weekend and on Monday. I have started wearing some of the clothes occasionally but am still wearing two of my normal pairs of jeans and some of my normal tops. I went through all of my clothes and packed up a bunch of things that are already getting snug to make room for the new things. And by packed up, I mean, piled on my bedroom floor. I keep meaning to make a trip to Walmart for a Rubbermaid bin that I can denote as the "pre-preg bin" but I haven't made it that far yet.

Sleep: The extreme fatigue that I was experiencing during early pregnancy has, thankfully, tapered off. I am no longer battling droopy eye syndrome in the middle of the afternoon or struggling to stay awake past 8 pm at night. I'm feeling much more energetic and more like myself.

Best moment this week: Finding out that I have received a spot with the local midwifery clinic and that I am no longer on the wait list. The FD and I went to an information session together on Tuesday evening and my first appointment with them is booked for next Thursday! I called very early in my pregnancy but it is hard to get in with them, so I was 5th on the waiting list. I quickly moved up to 2nd on the list and last week, they told me they had a spot open up for me. I am very excited because I have always felt strongly that I would want midwifery care for my pregnancies and was feeling fairly disappointed when I found out that I might not be able to have it. I am so excited to meet my midwife next week.

Movement: Not yet. I am so looking forward to this, though.

Gender: No idea, but I still keep saying HE. The FD says that I will be very surprised if/when our son is born with girl parts! :)

Labor Signs: Nope.

Belly Button in or out? Innie

What I miss: Nothing really.

Weekly Wisdom: I feel odd giving weekly wisdom. I don't feel like I am very wise. I am just taking this one day at a time and learning as I go. Maybe some of you other preggos or moms can give me some wisdom as I enter the 2nd trimester?

Milestones: Reaching the second trimester. Starting to get a bit of a tum tum.

does going to a midwifery clinic mean you don't get drugs when the time comes?

It always amazes me how fast other people's pregnancies go! It sure didn't feel that fast when I was the pg one.
This is the fun time...shouldn't be too long before you feel the first little flutters :)

Yay for getting into your midwife! I just started feeling movement in my 14th week but I was about 18 weeks before I felt Logan move. At first, it's pretty inconsistent...I hadn't felt baby move this time in two days but she/he was doing fine when I had my checkup, so don't panic when it first starts and you only feel it here and there. You'll love it when it happens!

A sweet little lemon - certianly not a sour one! So happy to hear that things are going good. Do you have any nursery plans?
