A few nights ago, the dude and I headed out to pick up the new toy that we decided to buy with our Christmas money.
I really would have loved to get a DSLR, but it just wasn't in the books at this point. So far, I am really pleased with our choice. It is compact, which makes it easy to carry around. I'm afraid if I did get a DSLR, I would take less pictures because I would get annoyed with lugging it around. It is total upgrade from my old camera. That poor thing wasn't working so well in the end. But, can I really blame it? It was over six years old, had been dropped numerous times, and set down on a birthday cake. I guess I should just be thankful she lasted me as long as she did.
I thought you might like to see some of the photos I took the first day I had the new camera. Can you tell who my favorite subject is?
She promptly got up and went outside after this photo shoot.
I also took some other, really random, photos. Of things like door mats, cups, and snow piles. Because I could. And of course, I must show you the first "food" photo that I shot with my new camera:
Now let's hope I can keep this baby out of the cake!
