An 80th Birthday Party

This weekend, we headed up to the FD's hometown to celebrate his grandmother's 80th birthday party. There was a come and go tea in the afternoon and then the immediate family stuck around for a delicious lasagna dinner afterward. His entire family - all the aunts, uncles, cousins etc - were able to be there, which made it really special for grandma.

After the visitors who came for the come and go tea cleared out, the real party got started.

There was some dress up....

Some shuffleboard (seriously - these people took this game a little too seriously)....

And then, we had a competition to see who could make the most disgusting face for the camera. Here are a few of the contenders.... I'll leave it up to you to vote on which one would win the contest. Yes, this is actually the kind of stuff that keeps us entertained at family gatherings.

After dinner, the fabulous dude surprised his Grandma with an incredibly special gift. A shaving cream strip show complete with a solo of "Happy Birthday".

On Sunday, my sister, her hubby and Little H came to the FD's parent's house for lunch as they live just about an hour away. Little H had a blast playing with my nieces and nephew on the FD's side of the family. He just loves other kids. He found so many new and exciting toys to play with but these glasses were at the top of his list!

We left to head home mid way through the afternoon and got home in time to do some laundry and have a relaxing evening to gear up for another busy week!

How was your weekend?

Oh.my. Well first of all, happy birthday to grandma. Second, I'm voting for # 4. I think I might actually have flashbacks of that. ;)
Lastly, I just don't know what to say about the striptease for Grandma. I'm shockingly speechless.

lol! i swear you are totally me sometimes. although Jay would never do shaving cream on his chest - he'd just shave the smilie face into his chest hair.

my nephew steals his mom's reading glasses all the time.

Well that's really weird...you had a post that came up on my reader, but it's not showing on your blog. Says you're taking a break? Well, you have a good break...you will be missed. Praying everything is okay with you. Take care...
