I just realized that I never wrote a post about seeing the Vancouver 2010 Torch Relay! In fact, I got to see it twice.
On Sunday the 20th, I saw the torch run come through the town where we live and then on the following week, I was able to see it come through my hometown. The only good pictures I have are from the second time around.
We stood outside my parent's store and watched the torch relay head through the downtown area of my hometown. Little H got to watch all the action from up on his Papa's shoulders. Even though he had no idea what was going on, he figured out how to wave his flag.
Just up the road from where we were watching, we saw the torch change hands between runners.
Once the relay had passed through, my dad and I walked down the street to the "core" of town center, where all of the festivities had taken place. They had speeches and everything, but we couldn't hear them from where we were standing.
Dad and I got our photo taken with one of the runners.

Very cool experience!
How fun! I once saw an Olympic torch runner by accident when we lived in Louisville. I had no idea they were even coming through, but was caught in a big line of cars coming out of the preschool drop-off. It was backed up, it turned out, because of the torch run going by. I guess that would have been for 2002 Salt Lake.
Very neat! so many of my Canadian friends have gotten to see the torch!!
Yay! GO Canada!

How cool is this! I didn't put two and two together that you would be close to this kind of stuff. I'm really on the ball these days.
