The Ped Egg?

By nature, I am not usually a fan of "as seen on TV products" but while I was wandering the aisles of WalMart the other day, the "Ped Egg" caught my attention. I have always had really dry, calloused feet and have never found anything that really solves the problem - except for getting a weekly pedicure which just ain't gonna happen.

Apparently this cheese grater type thingy is supposed to remove the dry, dead skin and callous from your feet. But, it's not rough or abrasive - see, it doesn't even pop a balloon.

Okay, so I'm a little skeptical that it will work. But, I'm still intrigued by the possibility of finding something that might help with my foot issue. So ... I'm throwing this out there ...

Has anyone used the ped egg on their own gross feet?

Do you know someone else with gross fungsy feet that has used the ped egg?

Does it work?

Should I go ahead and give it a whirl?

Anyone? ... Anyone? ...

I've actually heard that it's wonderful, but I haven't tried it myself. Hopefully a true user will chime in, but the reviews I've received would say buy it.

I was skeptical too...but it's really wonderful! I highly recommend giving it a whirl!

My mom and sister both have one and have used it. They say it works. To me I would be scared cause it looks like it would hurt. I say give it a whirl. My feet aren't that bad right now but I have a feeling they will be in the future. Let me know if it works if you decide to get it. And by the way I LOVE your Lucys Kitchen blog it is absolutely amazing I cannot wait to get a bread maker and start baking and cooking things :D

I have one and it works great. I got it as a gift and probably wouldn't have bought it for myself but it is useful!

Hi there.
I don't have a ped egg. I do have something that is similar, but in a different shape. Jason calls it my lemon zester! haha! Dork!
Anyway.... Love it. Need it. Jason says I should use it more. What?! Gasp?! What are you saying?! Me and my "boy feet" will be just fine. Thank.you.very.much. ;)

If you want to go the cheap route, the dollar store usually has a version with a stone on one side and a "lemon zester" for lack of the correct term on the other side.
Works for me. I'm cheap. ;)

Whoa- It looks freaky. But all these people say go or it. Good luck- review for us if you do, ok? But I'll probably never buy one. I just want to know if it hurt or not.

I haven't tried it; I have one of those foot file things (kind of like sandpaper on a stick) and use it in the shower.
It may work just great, but I've always been totally grossed out by the photo of them dumping all the "foot shavings" into the trash.

I have one! I was scared to use it at first. I was afraid it would hurt, but it doesn't. Takes a couple times if your feet are rough, but it definitely works. :)

my niece won a pedegg in a raffle basket, but since she's only 5, her mom hasn't let her use it yet. i'm interested to read your comments to see!

My mom bought one and she loves it. She always has calloused feet from walking around barefoot and she says the pedegg really helps!

I have something similar and it works pretty well. I also love the foot creme from Arbonne. It's nice and think so I usually put it on right before bed with socks. It leaves my feet feeling soooo smooth!

i've used the knock off ped egg and it's kinda weird...i had to really lotion up my feet after to help make them smooth...otherwise it just felt like i made my feet rougher. and usually putting lotion on my feet makes them smooth for a bit anyways...so i just use a pumice in the shower every second day, moisturize and golden...

Okay, I know we spoke about this briefly over Twitter, but...I AM DYING FOR ONE OF THESE. And for some reason I can't make myself to go the store and freaking spend $10 and buy one. I know, I know. Ridiculous. I live in flip flops for as long as possible, every year (i.e. as long as it's over 50 degrees) and my feet get, well, nasty. All hard and rough and blech. Maybe this will be the year I break down and pick up the PedEgg and my other foot-lust item, YogaToes.

I know, I know. I'm a total weirdo.

I've heard all good things about this..and I also want one. But it really, really grosses me out on the commercials where they throw away all of the dry skin out of the egg. Gross dude. Seriously gross.

Oooooooo! I have never used it but I've always wondered about it too! I hope you've gotten one so you can report. Looking forward to hearing all about it!

Definitely buy it. It is a cheap and easy way to keep your feet looking pretty between pedis!

I love mine. It's gross beyond all reason but it makes your feet pretty!

Art saw these at CVS last week and called them peT eggs. (Like a pet rock) I laughed so hard.

I have something similar that I use and it is much smaller. It is the same metal thing but shaped more like a big emery board or small spatula. It works just fine.
