Last week was somewhat of a lazy kitchen week. I don't really have much to share.
I won't be trying many new recipes this week either because I only have two nights to cook. I'm hoping that soon (perhaps this week) I will be able to start sharing some of the preserving that I will be doing with our garden's bounty. The tomatoes are trying their very hardest to ripen and the peppers are in abundance. Salsa, stewed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, pickled beets and red pepper relish ... here we come!

oh - and our favorite travel treat are my mom's travel bars -- http://joyinmykitchen.blogspot.com/2009/05/moms-famous-travel-bars.html
Every time I see that picture with the carrots..I think it is candy corn :)
my grandpa always used to make us pickled beets...yum! i haven't had them in many years though.
sounds like you have a busy week, hope it's a great one!
*jealous* ;)
What about those fruit leather things? If you had a dehydrator, you could make some great ones.
