I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane...

First of all, don't forget to check out this post and enter my 100th post giveaway if you haven't done so yet.

On to more important business ... Guess what? Last week, I booked a ticket to Scotland to see Katie and Amy in the spring! Being so far apart from my best friend has been really tough this year - so many days over the past 7 months I have just wished I could see her. Evan can attest to this ... every once in a while I just look at him and say "This feels like a Katie day".

They came home for two weeks in February and gave me the surprise of a lifetime. I had no idea they were coming ... I thought I was going to her parents house for dinner and we got SO much more. Her visit home made me realize, even more than ever, that what we've got going on is something awesome. It felt like we had never been apart.

I am going to be visiting them with my sister-in-law. It will be a great celebration at the end of the term. My sister-in-law will have just finished her MA and I will have just finished the first year of my MA. It will be a well deserved holiday. It's also the first time that either of us have been to Europe. I am so excited. If any of you have been to Scotland I'd love to hear any suggestions on things to see/places to go! I am counting down the sleeps....

Oh what fun you girls will have!!! Your trip sounds like it is going to be a trip of a lifetime! Yippee! I am SO excited for you! I was in Scotland once when I was in 12 and remember so little..except that we stayed in Edinburgh, (sp?) and that the countryside was absolutely gorgeous!!! How wonderful for you! :-)

Lucy, I know what an awesome cook you are! I wanted to ask if you have any easy recipes for dinners that don't require a tremendous amount of skill..especially since I don't have much when it comes to cooking! We have company coming next weekend and I wanted to make something special, and wanted to ask if you had any suggestions? I asked a few friends but you were one of my top choices as I know you are an accomplished chef! Can you e-mail me if you have any suggestions? I know you are busy too so no worries if you don't have time, just thought I would ask!

Have a great week and enjoy this happy time planning your trip!!

Love,
Denise :-)

Oh my gosh, how wonderful!! That seems so soon! Oh girl, what an amazing time you will have!

True friends are really a gift. I know what it means to be seperated from those people who know you inside and out. It's so tough sometimes. But how great that you get to see them soon!!

That's so awesome! You'll have a great time!
I went to Scotland with my dad many moons ago, but it wasn't so much a sightseeing trip, and I actually don't remember too many specifics about it, so no advice from me. :(
