In the midst of working on my new blog design (and by working on, I mean asking Katie how to do every single thing), I came across this post that I wrote exactly a year ago today:

A Year From Now....

A few conversations I have had recently have got me to thinking about where we will be a year from now and what I will be doing.

  • For the first time in my life, I will no longer be a student.
  • For the first time in my life, I will need to have a full time job.
  • For the first time in our married life, we will not have to live in this area due to school commitments.
  • For the first time in our married life, we will be able to start thinking about exactly where and what we want to be doing and actually take steps to do those things.

I like to live in an oblivious denial that we will ever have to make real life choices. I like to pretend we'll always live here, I will always be in school and things will stay just like they are.
But they won't.

These are scary thoughts for me. Hmm ... Where will we be at this time next year?

Ha! Well – let me tell you one thing – when I wrote that post, I was not expecting that in a year my fulltime job would be caring for a newborn baby, the Dude would have left his job and started his own business, or that we’d still live in the same apartment.

Once again this goes to show that when we make plans, God laughs.

So, I wonder where we’ll be in a year from now?

Love seeing where God has taken you! I have no idea where we'll be next year, but I'm excited to see. :)

isn't it fun to look back...and see how little we really know about our own lives??

You should make another prediction and see where you end up again!

Haha- amen sister. God does laugh at our plans. Crazyness.

I second that Amen! God certainly directs our paths in beautiful and unknown directions.

It is crazy to think about those things. Do you plan to stay at home for good with Eva?

You will have Monkey's brother or sissy on the way. :)

It's so funny how we make plans but God has better ideas for us :)

About a year ago I would have never expected my life the be the way it is either! Its crazy to think about how quickly our lives can change. I'd say you've got it pretty good though that's for sure! Cute little baby and a happy marriage!

I think back to when we were first married, and am amazed at all that God has carried us through. I do know this, through it all God is good. Jackie
