Weekend Recap

Good morning lovelies!

We had a busy and fun weekend. On Friday afternoon, my parents stopped by for a visit because my dad was doing a job in our town. Mom and I had a nice time chatting and then they took us out for dinner before they left. From there, the FD and I headed up to his parent's house.

I was so excited to go there because there is a Harvest Festival in his hometown, complete with a large craft show and tent sale at the local candle store. This is something I look forward to all year. Unfortunately, it was a major bust. I didn't buy anything at the craft show (well, except fresh cut fries and a sausage on a bun....) and I only found a few things at the tent sale that I liked. We hit the tent sale early in the morning, but it was already packed, so I felt a little overwhelmed and rushed. I made the FD go back with me later in the afternoon, thinking I must have missed some great deals. I only picked up one other thing the second time around. Although I got some nice candles for great prices, I was hoping to get some Christmas shopping done but that didn't happen. Oh well. Hopefully next year will be better!

After that, we went to his Sister and Brother-in-laws house for dinner. We had a great time eating with them and some of BIL's family and I greatly enjoyed sitting at the kid's table in the living room with my niece.

Although we normally stay for the whole weekend when we go up there, we decided to head home Saturday night because our church was having a special Thanksgiving service that we did not want to miss. The service was wonderful and the turkey dinner was amazing! If any of you are Harry Potter fans, you'll know what I mean when I say that potlucks at our church are like Hogwart's feasts. It's amazing how the transformation in the auditorium occurs. At one moment the room is full of chairs and the next moment, tables are set up and there's food everywhere. It's kind of my favourite thing.

After lunch, we headed home and I somehow convinced the fabulous dude, with a belly full of turkey, to go for a walk with me. We wanted to go for a hike but didn't really have time to get the trail that we wanted, since we had other things to do.

After our walk, we hit up the grocery store then headed to the evening service at FD's cousin's church. Another uplifting service! After that, we went to her house with a bunch of people for soup and breadsticks. Her BF made a delicious roasted pepper and sausage soup and she made yummy cauliflower and broccoli soup and Gail Lamb soup (apparently this is something that the school cafeteria made because FD knew exactly what it was - tomato soup with shell pasta in it) and garlicky breadsticks. It was a delicious end to a lovely autumn weekend.

Now that I wrote that update, I realize that my weekend sounds uber boring so if you're still here and reading this, thank you!

What did you do this weekend?

Hi there.
I don't think it sounds uber boring. I think it sounds like you drove around like crazy people, spent load of time with great people, and had fabulous food! Uh, is there a better way to spend a weekend?! No. I don't think so.

;)
