On Sunday morning we went to church for a special anniversary celebration. It has been 20 years since the new building where we worship was built. The building was packed and we enjoyed wonderful singing, two lessons from a past minister and our current minister as well as a cute cute cute performance by the "Spring Creek Kids". There was a potluck lunch of Swiss Chalet chicken, salads, ice cream sundaes and cupcakes. We were able to spend the morning worshiping and then spend some time in fellowship catching up with some friends who we haven't seen in months.
After the anniversary party was over, we headed back to our house to finish getting stuff ready for the BBQ. At this point you are probably wondering if we ever stop eating. The answer is no. Later in the afternoon some other friends arrived. There were 4 couples all together and it was such a lovely evening to spend with friends.
We watched a movie, ate a HUGE meal, and then headed out to the campfire where we chatted and had a great time. I was even able to accomplish a lifelong goal .... right Bigg Burd? We had so much fun that we decided to make this an annual tradition and are currently accepting applications for people who would like to join us next year. This is serious stuff, you know.
Nothing screams summer to me like a BBQ followed by a game of horseshoes and a late night campfire. Here are some pictures highlighting the afternoon/evening...

Sounds like a bunch of fun! I miss bonfires :(. It's already 95 degrees here so no more fires until at least October.
sounds like it was a great weekend! what was the lifelong goal you accomplished?!?
we had good friends over for dinner and games this weekend... then, both Frog Prince and I recovered from colds :(
You are too cute- love the aviators. = )
Sounds like such a fun weekend!!
How fun! Totally wish you were my next door neighbor. I love the sounds of the celebration at your church too. I just love getting together with my church family. There isn't anything quiet like it.
looks like you had a great weekend!
